We welcome all incoming-first year chemistry graduate students as well as our three new lab members. Tomer Rosen from Tel Aviv University join us as post-docs, and Alvin Chang from Nanyang Technological University will be performing his final-year undergraduate research project in our lab.

Rose will be presenting her recent studies of murine calprotectin in the Tuesday afternoon bioinorganic session. The paper will be published in a special issue honoring Professor Alison Butler, 2018 Alfred Bader Prize recipient - congrats again, Alison!

Our collaborative work with the Drennan lab reporting a new crystal structure of human calprotectin bound to Ni II and additional biophysical studies is accepted for publication in Biochemistry - congrats Toshiki, Sarah, and Emily! The paper will be published in a special issue honoring Professor Laura Kiessling, 2017 Tetrahedron Prize recipient - congrats again, Laura! Toshiki and Anmol are back for graduation - congratulations! Rebekah is a first-year undergraduate and joins us for a UROP!

Vicky joins us from Tianjin University, China, for her undergraduate thesis research! Toshiki will start a post-doc in Prof. Emily recently graduated from Stonehill College and will commence her graduate studies in our chemistry program this fall. Robert Bonomo on zinc starvation and the New Dehli metallo-beta-lactamase is published online in Nature Chemical Biology -- congratulations Lisandro, Guillermo, and Toshiki!

Wilma Neumann joins us as a Leopoldina post-doctoral fellow - welcome, Wilma! Bo Shen of the Cleveland Clinic on the storage and maturation of human defensin 6 is accepted for publication at Chemical Science -- congratulations Phoom, Hiu, and Patricia! Phoom will be presenting a poster on siderophores and Toshiki on calprotectin. Megan is headed back to the west coast for a post-doc in the Marletta Lab, and Tim is returning to Canada to join the Stephan Lab at Univ.

Best wishes to you both!
